~ Penni Laine ~
~ What a Long strange trip it's Been .!?
To make my long story short, Someday you can read the extended version when i write my book "The many adventures of "Penni Laine" ... Born October 23rd, 1977 *( Scorpio )* My Daddy wanted to name me Penni Laine...My mom said " No way!"...Born Penni Leigh, I later legally changed it during the years that i hated my mother. ( We have since repaired our relationship, She still calls me Penni Leigh, but has accepted that i am who i am ) Only three at the time i still remember the cold snowy day that John Lennon was tragically killed...There was much a three year old didn't know about John Lennon living with my dad......
My Mom could have been , and should have been a professional Seamstress ( Im still trying to convice her to quit her job and come work for me )...my Sister and i grew up wearing nothing but Handmade Clothing...So the sound of a sewing machine has always been very familiar to me...I didn't pick up the habit myself until later on in life though...

Married at 19, Divorced at 24...Single mommy of three... I sometimes had to work three jobs to make ends meet...but i did and i was determined that someday i would be able to spend time with and play with my children again... Not having much money, and wanting to replace all of my sweet patchy clothes that my husband had hated but couldnt afford i asked my gramma to teach me how to sew...That woman has the patience of a saint...many arguments, and tears of frustration later i got the hang of it...i just for fun and a little extra money started selling my goods on ebay...Then my mother stepped in to teach me about sergers, patterns and satin stitches...Oh my...but it has been and is an awesome adventure for me to watch my work evolve all of the time because i still learn new things every day...
While my Mom, and Gramma taught me how to sew, my Daddy has taught me about all beautiful things in life...The Love, The Music, The Peace, and the Hippieness...Because of what he taught me growing up i ws able to turn all of my anger, and hurt from my frustrating more than not life into something beautiful...My sewing was and still often is a way for me to channel my feelings...and its really hard to stay upset while you are watching something beautiful come to life...And there is beauty in everything around us if you look deep enough...and i use all of the beautiful energy that Mother Earth offers us daily to inspire me, along with the Music, and Love... *** Not only are you getting a one of a kynd creation when you shop here, you are getting a quality item that will last many , many , many moons...and each and every piece has a little bit of me and who i have been and am today... I wish i could tell you i went on tour with the dead that was one of my goals in life but my first show became my only show as we lost Jerry that summer...8 1/2 months pregnant...Dakota was named while i was there, and is the only 10 year old in my town that wears patchy pants, and knows shakedown street word for word...

We use Everything Earth friendly around our house now that is possible from Laundry soap, to Shampoo to Toilet Paper and Baby Wipes. I have been on a Boycott for almost a Year now , not purchasing anything Retail and or sweatshop made. Thats not always the easiest thing to do in a Walmart, Mcdonalds world, and especially with 4 kids. But We try and have had much success in our efforts... |
